The Second Renaissance Initiative is dedicated to reigniting a new era of human-centered creativity, culture, and innovation worldwide. Our mission counters the rise of self-destructive human-replacement theories and utopias by actively boosting, advancing and funding human art, business, culture, education, science and technology with a focus on excellence and the development of very advanced technologies to serve as valuable human tools and not as human clones.

Global Campaigns to Counter and Mitigate Existential Threats to Human Creativity and Intellectual Development
Human creativity and intellectual development are some of the most sacred values of human kind. They manifest through and are a product of authenticity, effort, hard work, ingenuity and struggle that is essential and necessary to create and develop human science, human technology, human arts, human writing, human entrepreneurship, human thought, human music, human ideas, inventions, innovation and many others. The erosion or naive replacement of them is the self-destruction of humanity. Here we clearly identify the ideologies, products and technologies that we consider existential threats to human creativity and cognition. You may follow up and/or participate in our global campaigns to counter and mitigate these threats via advocacy, ideas, public debate, legal actions, regulation proposals and other legitimate avenues.

Today, with Google AI Overview, after entering a search keyword or question, an unsolicited LLM chatbot appears blocking practically all the screen and gives a summarized overconfident answer to practically everything that a user asks or searches, blocking discovery and potential traffic to advertisers, businesses, publishers and organizations that appear below in search results, replacing the user’s critical thinking, cognitive effort and decision-making. And ironically, an important percentage of the answers are inaccurate...

The Michelangelo Fine Arts Prize
Created to reward human excellence in fine arts, the Michelangelo Prize is an annual prestigious prize given to virtuosos in painting (canvas), sculpting (all surfaces), writing (poems, books, essays, etc.), music (dancing, singing, instruments playing, composing), acting (theater, films, etc.), and other qualifying fine arts. The submitted work must fit all the parameters of authentic virtuosity, equivalent to renaissance masters, and it must not be AI assisted in any way. The reward is €1.000.000 per winner in each field. Contest regulated in Italy according to Presidential Decree 430/2001, art 6. comma 1. The Galileo Tech Prize
Annual award created to reward technology breakthroughs that: 1) Surpass all performance, quality, efficiency, and innovation benchmarks compared to current technologies; 2) Are designed to become tools for the augmentation of human creativity, intellectual evolution and scientific advancement and do not pretend to replace or outsource human cognition; 3) Contribute to solve humanity’s problems and diseases. Totally backed up by the Second Renaissance initiative, CAP was created to ignite the return of philosophy to science, tech and AI, business, education, policy and government, law and justice.
