About

We are part of the worldwide intellectual and cultural initiative of the Association Italy Heritage of Humanity (Associazione Italia Patrimonio dell'Umanità) to prepare for the Second Renaissance of humanity

We are living in medieval-like times where a "flawed and primitive meaning" of "intelligence" has been narrowed and degraded to machine operations and processes. The Italian Renaissance was, without any doubts, the climax of human genius and discovery. From Galileo, the father of science to Da Vinci, the greatest multi-disciplinary genius in history. The Renaissance was about pushing back to narrow-minded, "cult-like", dogmatic and dystopian ideas of the world. The Medicean spirit (precedents of modern VCs) financed and promoted knowledge and creativity at this great time in humankind where humanity, creativity, free thought and discovery thrived. Our Applied-Philosophy Center is part of and is totally and unconditionally backed by the largest Italian Business, Social and Cultural association in the world (Association Italy Heritage of Humanity) with more than 32,000 members in 54 countries. Also, many modern "Medicis" are members of our association constituting maybe the largest group of VCs, Angel Investors and science/culture Donators in the world. They are committed to bring the world to what is now called the Second Renaissance (Secondo Rinascimento), before it is too late.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is applied-philosophy?

Applied philosophy is a branch of philosophy focused on addressing philosophical problems with practical, real-world implications, rather than purely abstract or theoretical ones. Unlike "pure" philosophy, applied philosophy prioritizes questions of practical relevance and how philosophy can inform our act. Applied philosophy connects abstract philosophical principles to tangible, real-world scenarios, providing a framework for making more thoughtful and intentional decisions and choices.

How can philosophy apply to practical fields like science and tech?

It involves applying traditional philosophical concepts, theories, and methods to concrete situations and tangible choices in fields such as environmental issues, medicine, technology, law, policy, and education. The goal is to use philosophical reasoning to guide actions, inform decision-making, and solve practical problems that affect everyday life and society. Unlike "pure" philosophy, applied philosophy prioritizes questions of practical relevance and how philosophy can inform our actions and choices.

What are the goals of the Second Renaissance initiative?

To promote open-mind, real intelligence and creativity in science, AI, tech, culture. education, government and business. To contrast reductionism of intelligence and cognition. To help all kinds of initiatives (like in the Florence Renaissance) that foster creativity, innovation, healthy disruption, intellectual collaboration (not unidimensional fanatic thought), discoveries, inventions and everything that empowers humankind real intelligence, cognition and evolution, not sci-fi fantasies.

Solutions

Science & Tech

A collection of applied-philosophy solutions regarding medical, biotech, physics, psychology, neuroscience, computer science, chemistry, math and other scientific disciplines.

We have developed techno-philosophical solutions to guide scientists and researchers to determine not only the "how to" but also the "why", the "where to" and the "how to get there" and very importantly, to achieve scientific humility which is basically acknowledging that our limited anthropic view of the universe limits us still very much in understanding and differentiating "reality" to what's only an anthropomorphic, earth-centered, "perception of reality".

AI

We want AI to flourish, but we want it to thrive with precision, safety and quality, and as a prime tool for humans, not the other way around. To set an example of what beneficial and safe AI should be, we are working non-stop to research and develop what we call the Second Renaissance AI collection of models and technologies. No AGI utopias but concrete cutting-edge architectures and technologies. All AI developers, wrappers and AI startups are invited to develop similar models that are precise and that will become humans best collaborators, not replacements...

Policy/Government

Philosophical guidance and solutions to government leaders and policy makers. Solutions that will help them better identify the "the why", "the where" and "the how to get there".

Applied-philosophy to help governments and policy makers make the world a better place. Pragmatism is necessary in politics and governance but its not sufficient alone. It needs philosophy to view the picture from a 360 degrees perspective which doesn't happen too often in this contemporary narrow-minded world.

Our guidance in high-level decision-making helps insert this lacking "piece of the puzzle"...

Business/Enterprise

We have multiple solutions, like POO (Philosophy-Oriented Organizations) solution, directed to employees and management, being their intellectual contributions (without focus on race, social background, identity, religion, sexual orientation, etc.) the goal to pursue.

Education

Collaborations and synergies with schools and universities worldwide to "embed" philosophical "ways of thinking" in education so students not only learn "how to" but also "why", "where to" and "how to get there". A philosophical renaissance across learning.

Justice & Law

What is justice and law without the guidance of philosophy? We have crafted applied-philosophy guidance and services tailored to the judicial system, judges, lawyers, legislators and others related to justice decisions and ouputs.
